First Broadcasting launched its Accelerated Technical Development Initiative
(“ATDI”) in 2005 to work with leading universities, standardization
bodies, domestic and European industry consortia, and top tier spectrum technologists.
Through the ATDI program, First Broadcasting is making substantial advances
in computational modeling as relates to digital and analog signal propagation,
repetitive real-time assessment of spectrum allocation efficiencies, digital
data transmission utilizing existing spectrum, interservice interference and other areas of spectrum
technology innovation.
The principal purpose of the ATDI initiative is to speed innovation and
uptake by establishing multi-disciplinary centers of excellence focused
on, among other things, software development and high performance computing
using various computer-based simulation approaches. First Broadcasting’s
work through the ATDI program is designed to drive innovation in basic
and applied physical science, mathematical modeling, computational science,
software development, and high performance computer simulations of analog
and digital signal propagation characteristics.
